K03 for Polaris RZR XP Turbo: UTV Performance

The Polaris RZR XP Turbo is the benchmark for high-performance UTVs. The stock K03 turbo pushes 168-181 HP from the 925cc ProStar twin-cylinder engine. When the turbo fails, the RZR loses its defining characteristic — power. A worn turbo shows up as boost loss, oil consumption, and turbo whine.

Common RZR turbo failure causes

  • Bearing wear from dust — UTVs run in extremely dusty conditions. Even with good filtration, fine particulate gets through over time and accelerates bearing and seal wear.
  • Oil starvation — aggressive driving angles (hill climbs, jumps) can momentarily starve the turbo bearing of oil. Extended oil change intervals make it worse.
  • Heat soak — the 925cc engine bay runs very hot, especially at low speed or idle after hard use. Shut down without cooldown cooks oil in the bearing housing.

Installation

  • Direct bolt-on stock replacement.
  • Replace oil feed/drain lines. Use fresh synthetic oil.
  • Prime turbo before first start. Idle for 2-3 minutes.
  • Inspect air filter and intake ducting for leaks.
