New K03 Replacement Turbochargers for Polaris RZR XP Turbo and RZR Turbo R
The Polaris RZR Turbo is the most popular turbocharged UTV in North America — and it runs harder than most trucks. Trail dust, sand, mud, extreme heat cycles, and wide-open throttle on every ride load the turbo in ways a highway diesel never sees. When the turbo fails, the machine goes from 168 horsepower to undrivable. We stock brand new K03 replacement turbochargers for both generations of the turbocharged RZR: the oil-cooled K03 for the 2016-2021 RZR XP Turbo, XP 4 Turbo, and Turbo S models, and the updated water-cooled unit for the 2022-2024 RZR Turbo R. Both come with billet compressor wheels, pre-balanced, and matched by Polaris part number. Off-road shops, Polaris dealers and distributors order from US stock.
RZR turbo failures hit different than truck turbo failures. A truck limps home; a RZR gets stranded on a trail or loaded onto a trailer mid-ride. The replacement turbo needs to show up fast, fit perfectly, and survive the same abuse that killed the last one. Our RZR turbo program is built for that cycle.
Every RZR turbo we ship is brand new with a billet compressor wheel — forged and fully machined for higher flow and durability compared to cast wheels. Pre-balanced, ready to bolt on. No core deposit, no old unit to ship back.
We stock the K03 for the 2016-2021 RZR XP Turbo lineup (oil-cooled, Polaris 3023297 / 1205689) and the updated unit for the 2022-2024 RZR Turbo R (water-cooled, Polaris 1208928). Two turbos cover the entire turbocharged RZR range.
The 2016-2021 RZR uses an oil-cooled turbo; the 2022+ Turbo R uses a water-cooled unit with a different center section and coolant fittings. They are not interchangeable. Match by Polaris part number or by model year — we confirm before shipping.
RZR turbos ingest more dust and debris than any truck turbo on the market. The air filter and charge piping must be sealed tight — a loose clamp or cracked boot lets fine dust past the filter and erodes the compressor wheel. We flag this with every order because it is the leading cause of premature failure on these machines.
Beyond complete turbochargers, we carry repair kits and turbine wheels for the RZR K03. Shops that rebuild turbos in-house can source individual components matched to the RZR application.
One-year warranty on every unit, handled by our US team. RZR turbos live a harder life than truck turbos — we understand the duty cycle, the failure modes, and what kills them early. See the warranty page.

WHY CHOOSE US
We match the turbo by Polaris part number and model year, ship from US stock, and answer install questions specific to the RZR platform. One machine or a dealer restock — same process, same price. More about our company and quality process.
By generation: the 2016-2021 RZR XP Turbo, XP 4 Turbo, and Turbo S models use the K03 turbocharger with Polaris part numbers 3023297 and 1205689. The 2022-2024 RZR Turbo R uses an updated K03 with part number 1208928. Match by the Polaris part number on the old turbo or by the model and year of your machine.
No. The 2022+ Turbo R uses a water-cooled turbo with a different center section, different mounting and additional coolant fittings. The 2016-2021 unit is oil-cooled only. They are not interchangeable — installing the wrong generation will not bolt up correctly.
Dust ingestion is the number one killer. The RZR operates in dusty, sandy and muddy conditions at wide-open throttle, and any gap in the air intake system — a loose clamp, cracked charge tube, or clogged air filter — lets abrasive particles past the filter and into the compressor wheel. The second most common cause is oil starvation from running low on oil or using degraded oil that cokes inside the turbo's bearing section during hot shutdown.
Yes. Every RZR turbo we sell comes with a billet compressor wheel as standard — forged and machined from a solid aluminum blank. Billet wheels flow more air and resist erosion better than cast wheels, which matters on a machine that ingests trail dust every ride.
All units are 100% brand new. No rebuilt cores, no core charge, nothing to return. Pre-balanced, billet wheel, OEM-spec dimensions. One-year warranty.
Yes. Polaris dealers and off-road specialty shops order on regular restocking cycles. Consistent wholesale pricing from US stock. See the wholesale page.
The turbocharged RZR changed the UTV market when it launched in 2016, and turbo service has been part of the ownership experience ever since. These machines run harder than most vehicles on the road — wide-open throttle through dust and sand, extreme heat in desert riding, and thermal shock from water crossings. Understanding how the turbo works and why it fails helps shops and owners get the most life out of each unit.
| Generation | Models | Turbo | Cooling |
|---|---|---|---|
| 2016-2021 | RZR XP Turbo, XP 4 Turbo, Turbo S | K03 (3023297) | Oil-cooled |
| 2022-2024 | RZR Turbo R, RZR Pro R Turbo | K03 (1208928) | Water-cooled |
A highway diesel turbo runs at steady state for hours with filtered, relatively clean air. A RZR turbo goes from cold to maximum boost in seconds, operates at peak load for extended periods, ingests dust and sand through even small intake leaks, and heat-soaks during stops. Three factors dominate RZR turbo failure:
Before installing a new turbo, inspect every connection between the air filter box and the turbo inlet. Check every clamp for tightness, every silicone boot for cracks or holes, and the air filter housing seal. A single loose clamp downstream of the filter can let enough dust past to erode a new compressor wheel within a few rides. This step takes ten minutes and is the single most impactful thing a shop can do to protect the new turbo.
Prime the turbo with clean oil through the oil feed fitting before connecting the feed line. Hand-spin the shaft to confirm free rotation. Torque the exhaust V-band clamp to spec — over-tightening cracks the flange, under-tightening causes exhaust leaks. On the 2022+ water-cooled unit, bleed the coolant circuit completely to avoid air pockets that cause localized hot spots in the bearing housing. Start the engine and idle for two to three minutes before loading the turbo — this lets oil pressure stabilize and oil film establish on the bearing surfaces.
