New BorgWarner B2UV Turbochargers for International Navistar MaxxForce DT466 and DT570
The BorgWarner B2UV is the single-turbo VGT configuration used on International Navistar MaxxForce DT466 and DT570 engines from the mid-2000s through the early 2010s. It replaced the older S300V on many DT466 applications and runs an electronic wastegate actuator controlled by the ECM. The B2UV comes in three distinct BorgWarner part numbers — 12639880001, 12639880002 and 12639880003 — that look nearly identical on the outside but are calibrated for different DT466 engine codes and horsepower ratings. They are not interchangeable. We stock all three variants, each available as turbo only or as a complete assembly with the electronic actuator pre-installed. Every unit is new-built, balanced, and matched by the BorgWarner part number on your old turbo before shipping. Shops, fleets and distributors order from US stock.

The B2UV ordering mistake is always the same: a shop orders "a DT466 turbo" without specifying which of the three BorgWarner variants it needs, and the wrong one shows up. The 001, 002 and 003 have different compressor and turbine calibrations matched to different DT466 engine codes — install the wrong one and the truck runs poorly even though it bolts right on. Our B2UV program exists to catch that error before the part ships.
Every B2UV we ship is 100% new — new CHRA, new wheels, new wastegate mechanism. No core deposit, no old unit to freight back. Medium-duty fleet shops replacing DT466 turbos on school buses and delivery trucks do not have time for core logistics — we skip that step entirely.
We carry the 12639880001, 12639880002 and 12639880003 — covering the full range of DT466 and DT570 engine codes that use the B2UV platform. Each variant ships individually based on the BorgWarner number on your old turbo's nameplate.
Each of the three B2UV variants is available two ways: turbo body only (if your existing actuator tests good and you want to save cost), or as a complete assembly with the electronic wastegate actuator pre-installed. Check the actuator before ordering — if it responds correctly to ECM commands, the turbo-only option is the right call.
The 001, 002 and 003 are calibrated for different DT466 engine codes (I313, I326 and sub-variants). We match by the BorgWarner 1263-988-000x number on the old turbo — not by model year, not by truck model, not by VIN. The part number is the only reliable match because International changed turbo configurations across engine codes without changing the external appearance.
School bus fleets, delivery companies and municipal truck pools running DT466-powered International trucks are core B2UV customers. Consistent wholesale pricing from single units to fleet restocks, all from US stock. See the wholesale page.
One-year warranty on every B2UV, handled by our US team. Before install, flush or replace the oil feed line — the DT466 is notorious for feed line coking, and a restricted line is the number one cause of repeat turbo failure on this platform. See the warranty page.

WHY CHOOSE US
We confirm the BorgWarner variant before dispatch, hold all three B2UV part numbers on a US shelf, and ship fast. Medium-duty downtime costs the same as heavy-duty downtime — speed matters. More about our company and quality process.
The 12639880001, 002 and 003 cover different DT466 and DT570 engine codes and horsepower ratings. The 001 is most commonly found on the DT466 I326 at 245HP. The 002 covers a different I326 sub-variant. The 003 fits the MaxxForce DT466/570 I313 and certain I326 builds. Each has different compressor and turbine calibrations — they bolt onto the same manifold but deliver different boost curves. Match by the BorgWarner number on the old turbo, not by engine model year.
Both options are available. Each of the three variants is listed as turbo only and as a complete assembly with the electronic wastegate actuator pre-installed. If your actuator responds correctly to ECM commands and shows no physical damage, the turbo-only option saves cost. If the actuator has failed or you want a guaranteed clean replacement, order the complete assembly.
By the BorgWarner part number on the old turbo's dataplate. The number will read 1263-988-0001, 1263-988-0002 or 1263-988-0003 (often printed as 12639880001, 002 or 003). If the dataplate is unreadable, the International engine serial number and engine code (I313 or I326) can be used to identify the correct variant — contact us with either identifier.
No. The three variants have different compressor and turbine calibrations. Installing the wrong variant will bolt on without issue but produce incorrect boost behavior — the ECM expects a specific airflow response at each load point, and a mismatched turbo will trigger fault codes, poor fuel economy and potentially engine damage from incorrect air-fuel ratios.
All units are 100% brand new. No rebuilt cores, no core charge. New CHRA, new wheels, new wastegate mechanism. Balanced and OEM-spec. One-year warranty.
Yes. School bus fleets and medium-duty delivery operations running DT466 trucks order B2UV turbos as regular maintenance items. Consistent wholesale pricing from US stock. See the wholesale page.
The B2UV is one of several turbo systems used on the International Navistar DT466 platform — and it is the one that causes the most ordering confusion. Three part numbers, three calibrations, one bolt pattern. Getting the right one matters.
| BorgWarner # | Engine code | HP | Years (typical) |
|---|---|---|---|
| 12639880001 | DT466 I326 | 245HP | 2005-2010 |
| 12639880002 | DT466 I326 (variant) | Various | 2005-2009 |
| 12639880003 | DT466/570 I313, I326 | Various | 2007-2010 |
Year ranges overlap and mid-year changes exist. The BorgWarner part number on the old turbo is the definitive identifier — not the truck model year.
The DT466 used four different turbo systems across its life. The S300V came first (2003-2008, single turbo with wastegate). The B2UV followed as a VGT replacement with electronic actuator control. The R2S twin-turbo system appeared on EPA10 trucks. Understanding which system your truck runs is step one — ordering a B2UV for a truck that needs an S300V or an R2S will not work. See our MaxxForce turbocharger page for the complete DT466 turbo timeline.
The B2UV uses a BorgWarner electronic wastegate actuator that receives position commands from the ECM. The actuator controls boost pressure by opening and closing the wastegate valve. Common failure modes include motor burnout (the actuator stops responding), gear train wear (the actuator responds but cannot hold position under exhaust pressure), and connector corrosion (the actuator looks dead but the wiring is the problem). Before ordering a complete turbo-plus-actuator assembly, check the actuator independently: verify the wiring harness and connector, command the actuator through a scan tool, and confirm it moves smoothly through its full range. If the actuator passes all three checks, the turbo-only option saves cost.
Every turbo system on the DT466 — S300V, B2UV and R2S alike — shares the same weakness: the oil feed line cokes up with carbon from degraded oil. The restricted line starves the turbo bearings of lubrication, and the bearings fail. This is the single most common cause of repeat turbo failure on the DT466 platform. When replacing a B2UV, flush or replace the oil feed line as a mandatory step, change the engine oil and filter, and check the oil drain path for restrictions. A new turbo on a restricted feed line will fail within months — sometimes weeks.
